Acquired by Vitol in 2014, the Geelong Refinery is located in Victoria, South Australia, and is operated by Viva Energy, a leading Australian energy company.
Viva Energy owns significant additional energy infrastructure across Australia including a network of pipelines and terminals and imports products supplied by Vitol to supplement local fuel production at the refinery. Australia’s most complex refinery, Geelong is capable of processing up to 120kbpd and manufactures a range of high-quality marine fuels and specialty products for military and polar operations.
We manufacture and supply a range of high-quality marine fuels including HSFO, LSMGO and VLSFO. Our Geelong Refinery is also equipped to manufacture bespoke marine fuel grades such as Special Antarctic Blend (SAB) diesel for use in Polar operations to meet ISO 8217:2012 DMA specifications.
Our marine fuel quality is controlled by our Fuel Quality Assurance Systems (FQAS) to comply with Australian and international marine standards.
